Your First Visit
From the moment you walk into Wright Orthodontics, you’ll notice we do things differently. Your first visit is all about getting to know you and your smile goals. Whether you’re here for yourself or your child, we make the experience comfortable, informative, and personalized.
During your initial consultation, you’ll meet Dr. Wright and our friendly team. We’ll take digital photos and use our iTero scanner to create a 3D image of your teeth — no messy impressions required. Dr. Wright will perform a thorough exam and discuss your treatment options, timing, and what to expect moving forward.
Best of all, your first visit is completely free, and there’s never any pressure to commit. We’re here to answer your questions, walk you through the next steps, and help you feel confident about your care.

Ortho Emergencies
At Wright Orthodontics, your comfort and safety are always our top priorities. While true orthodontic emergencies are rare, we understand that issues with your braces or aligners can be uncomfortable and sometimes stressful. What to Do When Something Doesn’t Feel Right
Most issues during orthodontic treatment can be managed at home or addressed during your next scheduled visit. However, if you’re experiencing significant pain, a broken appliance, or trauma to your teeth or mouth, don’t hesitate to call us. We’re happy to walk you through the next steps and schedule an appointment if needed.
Managing Pain or Discomfort
It’s completely normal to feel some soreness when you first get braces or after an adjustment. If you’re wearing Invisalign, you may also notice mild pressure with each new set of aligners. This discomfort is typically a sign that your teeth are moving as planned.
For general soreness, over-the-counter pain relievers like ibuprofen can help. Soft foods, warm salt water rinses, and avoiding crunchy or hard foods during this period can also ease discomfort.
If the pain becomes sharp, persists beyond a few days, or is accompanied by swelling or bleeding, please contact our office right away so we can evaluate the cause and provide relief.
Broken Brackets or Wires
If a bracket becomes loose or a wire breaks, don’t panic — it’s a common issue and we’re here to fix it. In the meantime, use the orthodontic wax we provided to cover any sharp or protruding parts that may irritate your cheeks or gums.
Give us a call to schedule a repair appointment. We’ll assess the issue and get your treatment back on track as quickly as possible. Please note: depending on the nature of the damage, additional fees may apply if repairs fall outside your original treatment plan.
Sores or Irritation Inside the Mouth
Brackets and wires can sometimes rub against the soft tissues of your mouth, especially in the early stages of treatment. If you develop a sore or tender spot, rinse your mouth with warm salt water and use wax to cover the area of the appliance that’s causing irritation.
If the discomfort persists or becomes painful, reach out to us. Dr. Wright can make adjustments to improve your comfort and prevent further irritation.
Dental Injuries While in Braces
If you chip, crack, or knock out a tooth while wearing braces, especially during sports or an accident, seek immediate medical attention. Visit your nearest emergency room or urgent care center if needed. Once you’ve received appropriate care, contact our office as soon as possible to schedule a follow-up visit.
Do not attempt to adjust or reposition your braces on your own. We’ll carefully assess the situation and determine the best way to move forward with treatment.
